Earl Snyder can flat-out hit. I wonder if he could play 3rd if Fryman doesn't come back.
Lansing could come in as a late-inning replacement.

How about all three? Personally i think they are going to send Snyder down to AAA because there is no real spot for him at the ML level. If Fryman goes down, Branyan, who has only struck out twice ALL ST so far would get first shot at 3B and Anderson would resume in LF. I think that is probably the best lineup they can throw in there. Anderson leading off, Omar, Lawton, Burks, Thome, Guittierez, Branyan, Bradley, Diaz. Allows people to split the righty/lefty hitters. If Fryman performs, then put him in the number 3 hole, put Lawton leadoff and keep Branyan in the lineup in LF.

How about LaRocca?! And Donzell McDonald? And Medrano...did these guys like take hitting pills or something during the winter?

Snyder is 26. If he hits all spring, then he's ready for a look. He can't be any worse than Branyan at 3B, and it's a righthander replacing another righthander, something we're a little short on.
The Mets never gave this guy a chance. Since we went to the trouble of trading Robbie, we should see what we got. What a bonus if he hit .280 with 20 HR. Let's just see where he's at in April.

Well, if he really earned a spot, I would take him over Cordero. Snyder could back up Thome, play some 3B, and DH when Burks needs a rest. GOTTA have that right-handed bat, and Cordero ain't it. Realistically, Snyder is going to Buffalo, but could be an early call-up.

The trouble with giving him Cordero's roster spot is the money. They really have to find someone to take Cordero's money. I hear that the Cubs are looking for a closer/setup-man. Considering the strength of the team is totally in the bullpen, think we can finagle the Cubs to take Coredero, and maybe...Wohlers for a couple B type minor leaguers? They were willing to pay Shaw 3 million a year. Now they would get Wohlers for 2 mill, and Cordero for 4 million, so it would be approximately the same.

When we first got Snyder I wondered too if he could replace Cordero. Someone who knows more about the minors than I do said that Snyder was really not much of a prospect. But if he can continue to play like this with the personal issues he is having, he might just hit his way onto this team.

Well, Wohlers isn't looking too good. If Riggan isn't ready, and Jaret doesn't cut it, then suddenly, our bullpen depth is gone.
I sure hope they keep Herrera, and not Radinsky. We can't afford to have too many journeyman pitchers on this team.
